Unlock the Power of Your Genetic Code with Epigenetic Performance Coaching as a part of your Personal Transformation journey

What is epigenetics?

We know lifestyle has an impact on genetics. We are not born with bad or good genes. It is all about the epigenetics. By revealing your genetic blueprint we are able to start optimizing your performance in a way that was never possible before. Stop guessing, or following “trends”. Live your life how it suits you best.

Epigenetics is the science of how your genes interact with the environment. It’s where nature and nurture merge to create the on-going expression of you.

In other words, who you are is dependent not just on the genes you were born with but how those genes interface with your environment, and how your environment influences how your genes express. That dynamic interaction is what creates who you are and how you function and feel in your life.

A simple DNA test (saliva sample) kicks off the journey. You choose which areas you wish to deep dive into.

Who is an Epigenetic Performance Coach?

A certified epigenetic performance coach is trained in a systems based precision performance . Working in the field of optimization and upgrading the human experience, leveraging genetics, epigenetic lifestyle components and client specific goals to formulate a clear path to whole new levels of human performance. Your coach works with genetic analyses where the focus is first an foremost you and your lifestyle, and how to maximize the genetic potential you have.

Areas covered in our epiGenetic analyses

Sleep optimization

  • Sleep impacts every cell in your body

  • Chronotype – Morning or evening person? Design your day around your chronotype

  • How much sleep do you need, are you a short sleeper, and are you a good short sleeper? Revealing the optimal sleep timing and duration for you.

  • Nutrition choices affecting sleep quality

  • Sleep quality/sleep disruptions - tendencies for refreshing sleep vs. fragmented

Nutrition: How do you process foods?

  • Optimal carbohydrate, protein and fat intake

  • Will grains give you brain fog, stress, anxiety, sleepless nights?

  • Caffeine metabolism and jitters

  • High or low carb for weight management

  • Sugar, snacks, cravings. Dopamine and Serotonin production, “cookie jar gene”?

  • How much and what types of fat do you need? Will saturated fats have a negative impact on your brain, long term? Polyunsaturated fats, will they increase inflammation?

Supplementation: 16 Critical Micronutrients

  • What can your body produce, process and convert?

  • What can you get from daily food, and what supplements do you really need to take (and when)?

  • What should you avoid supplementing with? Risks for inflammation for instance.

Detoxification pathways and envirotoxins

  • What are the possible “holes” in your immune system and how to fill them?

  • Assess your body’s natural detoxification pathways

  • How well do you likely process nsaids, medicines, anesthesia, etc.?

  • How do histamines, mold exposure, environmental toxins and pollution impact you?

Hormones: How the pathways of each hormone actually work

  • Best ways for you to balance hormones

  • Thyroid: your genetic propensity for TSH levels, overall thyroid function

  • Melatonin production and response to supplementation

  • Cortisol, Estrogen, and Testosterone - your genetic predispositions

Athletic Performance

  • Plan and manage your recovery and training

  • Manage inflammation and avoid injuries

  • Understand your genetic predispositions with regards to Speed, Endurance, Recovery, Strength, VO2 Max

DNA testing kit - Epigenetics

DNA test kit

A simple saliva test taken at home and sent to our lab. Your genetic raw data is shared with you within 2-4 weeks, to be analyzed and interpreted by your epigenetic performance coach.

NOTE: we do not sell or deliver genetic reports without an interpretation meeting with you. We work with epigenetics. Your lifestyle, your behaviors have an impact on your genes.

Two sessions with Saga Performance has outweighed 13 years of trial and error whilst studying the human body. If I could rewind the clock, I’d ensure my entire family completed this process at the earliest opportunity as it would save lives and more time than I can fathom. Assuming rice, meat, fruit, and supplementation were key to my health was a big mistake on my part, now I have the information I need thanks to Satu at Saga Performance.

“The Apeiron array offers the most advanced capture of raw data compared to any other genetic array, (over 750,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms, (SNPS). Our genetic array and interpretation process is only available to clients working with a Certified Aperion Epigenetic Performance Coach. Genetic data is simply data and yet what determines how your genes express is through your interaction with your environment. To gain truly individualized, actionable strategies requires interaction with a certified epigenetic coach who understands the complexity of the human system. Our coaches can discuss the impact of your genetics and pair them with your personal lifestyle for true optimization, this is the Apeiron difference.”

We advise to start with the following

3 Genetic panels “Nutrition, Supplementation, and Sleep”

OR

6 Genetic panels “Nutrition, Supplementation, Sleep, Detoxification, Hormones and Athletic Performance”

The journey includes a DNA swab conducted at home by you, a minimum of two interpretation & advisory sessions with an epigenetic performance advisor and access to the ApeironGenomics portal with personalized reporting, advice and insights.

We do not save your data longer than needed for the interpretation to take place. Our lab receives your sample with a reference code, no names attached. Should you wish to receive more information on how we secure utmost privacy, please get in touch.

From our client, Crossfit Athlete Emma Tall

“I’ve analyzed my genetic blueprint to optimize my performance, including nutrition, sleep and supplementation. And I’ve learned so much!”

Here are my key takeaways:

1. Specific supplementation (what’s best for me/ what I should/shouldn’t take).

2. Sleep, what I need to do to get the best sleep possible, what type of food is best for me to eat before bed etc.

3. What food sources are good/bad for me in the long run, how do I process food.

4. Caffeine metabolism - how sensitive am I for caffeine and how long does it take me to process it.

I would recommend this to everyone that want to optimize their performance or lifestyle.

This stuff is really cool! The link between genetics and epigenetics was well explained as was the personal ‘readout’. For me, it was very interesting and insightful. I would really recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning, growing, and optimizing one’s lifestyle.
